Rocket Math

The third graders have been working hard on their multiplication this year. It is my goal to have each 3rd grader in my class memorize their multiplication facts by the end of the year. One way we are going to work on that is with Rocket Math. Rocket Math goes from A to Z. The students start on A with multiplying by 0 and 1 and they work their way up as they pass each sheet. You can help at home by working with your child. Quiz them in the car when you are going somewhere or while you are cooking dinner. Thanks for all your help!

Dr. Seuss Week

We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss week from February 25 through March 1. Teachers will read a different Dr. Seuss book every day and students are encouraged to participate by dressing up. We will have a guest reader on Friday.

Monday - Cat in the Hat Day (wear a hat)

Tuesday - Daisy Head Mayzie (crazy hair day)

Wednesday - Wacky Wednesday (mismatched clothes)

Thursday - The Sleep Book (wear pajamas)

Friday - The Foot Book (crazy socks)

Literacy Night

The Reading Teachers will be having their 2nd annual literacy night on Thursday, February 28 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Parents, children, grandparents, and friends are invited to enjoy a fun evening of literacy with a Dr. Seuss theme. There will be refreshments, snacks, and games for all ages. The goal is to help children develop a love of reading and to help families incorporate literacy activities into their everyday lives.
